1. INTRODUCTION OF HVAC

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are a basic needs of modern buildings, offices and R & D labs, it provide the necessary comfort and working environment. HVAC systems are used for maintaining indoor temperature, humidity, and air quality, creating a comfortable and healthy living or working environment. However, many people are not familiar with the basics of HVAC systems and use, which can make it difficult to find and solve problems, and also to choose the right system for their needs or to improve their energy efficiency. 2. HEATING SYSTEM

Heating systems are an important component of HVAC systems, it used for maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature during colder months and also indoor humidity during monsoon season. In some parts of our world, the heating system is used to increase the temperature of the room, but in some parts of our world, it is used to maintain Humidity inside the area. There are several types of heating systems commonly used in residential and commercial buildings, including:

  1. Furnaces: Furnaces are the most common type of heating Equipment, which use natural gas, oil, propane, or electricity to generate heat. This generated heat is used to warm the air and circulates to building through ducts and vents. Furnaces are relatively affordable than other heating system and efficient, making them a popular choice for many homes.
  2. Heat Pumps: Heat pumps are an energy-efficient heating system that works by transferring heat from the outside air to the inside of the building. During colder months, the heat pump extracts heat from the outdoor air and uses it to warm the indoor air. During warmer months, the process is reversed, and the heat pump works as an air conditioner, removing heat from the indoor air and releasing it outside.
  3. Boilers: Boiler are used for heat generation. Boilers use natural gas, oil, or electricity to heat water, this heated water is then distributed through pipes to radiators, baseboard heaters, or in-floor radiant heating systems. Boilers are typically used in larger buildings, such as commercial or industrial spaces, but can also be used in residential settings.
  4. Electric Heating: Electric heater are electric component used for heat generation. Electric system uses electricity for heat generation. This Generated heat is then used for the heating purpose of the room sir and also used to maintain the Humidity of micro areas. This electric heater is easy to install and operate as compared to others.

Anyway, the type of heating system, regular maintenance and service are essential to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Common problems with heating systems include faulty in thermostats, clogged air filters, and dirty ducts, which can lead to reduced heating efficiency, poor indoor air quality, and higher energy bills. 3. COOLING SYSTEM

Cooling systems are another important part of HVAC systems, This helps for maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature during warmer months. There are several types of cooling systems commonly used in residential and commercial buildings, including:

  1. Air Conditioning System:- Air Conditioning systems are the most commonly used system. This type of system use refrigerant to cool indoor air. Then this treated air is circulated to the room through ducts, vents, etc. Air Conditioning is available in various types like Window AC, Split unit, and Centralized air conditioning systems.
  2. Heat Pumps: Heat pumps, as described in the heating system section, The Heat pump can also be used as a cooling system by reversing the process used to heat indoor air. During the summer season, the heat pump extracts heat from the indoor air and releases it outside, creating a cooler indoor environment.
  3. Evaporative Coolers: Evaporative coolers, also known as swamp coolers, use water to cool indoor air. The water is evaporated into the air, lowering the temperature and increasing humidity. Evaporative coolers are most effective in dry climates and are less common in humid areas.
  4. Evaporative Cooler: Evaporative coolers use water to cool indoor air. When lower humidity air is come in contact with water, the air and water is mixed with each other. The temperature of air is decreases and humidity of air is increases. Evaporative Cooler are most effective in dry climates and are Less effective in high Humidity areas.

To get Desire Output from Cooling system we need to Regular maintenance of system. There are some common factor which effect cooling system are dirty filters, dirty ducts, refrigerant leaks, poor indoor air quantity, which can lead to reduce cooling effect of system.Regular Maintenance, such as cleaning air filters, checking ducts etc.

4. VENTILATION SYSTEM

Ventilation systems are an essential part of HVAC systems, ventilation systems are used for maintaining indoor air quality by removing stale air from the air by introducing Fresh air to the area. There are several types of ventilation systems commonly used in residential and commercial buildings, including:

  1. Exhaust Ventilation: The exhaust Ventilation system is used to remove stale air from indoors such as in bathrooms, kitchens, toilets, etc. The Exhaust system is operated by using fans to create suction inside the building, which sucks air from outside through windows, doors or any open space.
  2. Supply Ventilation: Supply ventilation systems introduce fresh air from outside into indoor spaces, and Supply Ventilation system provide a continuous supply of fresh air. The system works by using a blower to blow fresh air into the building through ducts. The stale air is exhausted naturally thoughts opens area in the buildings.
  3. Balanced Ventilation: Balanced ventilation systems provide a balance of both supply and exhaust ventilation, ensuring a constant supply of fresh air while also removing stale air. The system operates by using blower to both supply and exhaust air, creating a balanced airflow.
  4. Heat Recovery Ventilation: Heat recovery ventilation systems are designed to recover heat from exhaust air and transfer it to incoming fresh air, which increasing energy efficiency of machine, this is also called pre-cooling. The system operates by using a heat exchanger to transfer heat from the exhaust air to the incoming fresh air, reducing the amount of energy needed to heat or cool the incoming air.

5. TYPE OF HVAC SYSTEM

There are different types of HVAC systems available for use in residential as well as commercial purposes. The type of system used will depend on the specific needs of the building and its occupants. Some of the most common types of HVAC systems are listed below:

  1. Split Systems: Split systems are the most common type of HVAC system used in residential buildings and office areas. They consist of an indoor and outdoor unit, outdoor unit consist of  the compressor and condenser, and an indoor unit, consist of evaporator coil and air handler. These two units are connected by refrigerant lines called copper pipes. The refrigerant flow through these pipes. 
  1. Packaged Systems: Packaged systems are very much similar to split systems, but all components are installed in a single unit, It is usually located on the roof or outside the building. Packaged systems are often used in commercial buildings, as they are easier to install and maintain than split systems.
  1. Heat Pumps: Heat pumps are a type of HVAC system that can both heat and cool indoor spaces. They work by transferring heat between the indoor and outdoor environments, rather than generating heat like traditional heating systems. Heat pumps are often more energy-efficient than traditional heating and cooling systems.
  1. Ductless Mini-Split Systems: Ductless mini-split systems are similar to split systems, but they do not require ductwork to distribute air. They consist of an outdoor unit, which houses the compressor and condenser, and one or more indoor units, which are mounted on the wall and distribute air directly into the room. Ductless mini-split systems are often used in older buildings or in rooms where ductwork is not possible or desirable.

6. COMPONENT OF HVAC SYSTEM

HVAC Systems are made of several components that work together to perform the system and to get fulfill user requirements like Temperature, Humidity, Cleanness of Class. Some of the most important components of HVAC systems are listed below:-

  1. Thermostat:- Thermostat is a controller of HVAC system. It allow user to set temperature of area as per requirement. this will automatically set indoor air temperature by setting set value of temperature.
  2. Air Filters:- Air Filter is an Essential Component of HVAC systems, which is responsible for removing Duct particle from the air and also maintaining air temperature. There are different type of air filter used in Commercial area as per user requirements. To maintain room temperature, it is very necessary to Clean Filter as per Maintenance schedule.
  3. Duct and vents:- There are different type of duct used in Commercial Industries. Air circulate into room through duct, We need to proper insulating this duct to prevent from heat loss. The size of duct depend quantity of air or volume of air, to calculate this volume, we need proper calculation.
  4. Air Conditioner: Air conditioner is the central cooling component of the HVAC system. it is responsible for cooling of air and dehumidification of the air. This cooled air then distributed through duck to different rooms.
  5. Air Handler: The air handler is a Component of The HVAC system that circulates air through the system. This air handler is responsible for pulling air into the rooms
